The Techno Parade once again reclaims the keys to Paris on Saturday, September 13, 2014 for its major festive and militant electronic music event.
Freedom and diversity are the leitmotifs of this new edition, sponsored by the French band Dirtyphonics, a symbol of genre fusion with a universe mixing dubstep, drum’n’bass, electro and rock.
As part of the France-Vietnam Year, the Vietnamese electronic music scene is honored with the creation of a float featuring three Vietnamese artists, DJ Jin, Slo-Lo and DJ Jase, and three Franco-Vietnamese artists, Tha Trickaz, DJ Yellow and Nick V.
300,000 people are expected to join the procession of some 15 floats from around the world. The rendezvous is set for noon at Place de la Nation.
The party will go on until dawn with the DREAM NATION festival in the legendary Docks de Paris warehouses, featuring over 30 French and international artists on four stages, covering all styles of electronic music for the first time in Paris.
PARIS ELECTRONIC WEEK completes the street party from September 24 to 28, 2014 with artistic and professional events dedicated to electronic cultures and aimed at all audiences.
From September 18 to 20, three before events bridge the gap between Techno Parade and Paris Electronic Week. The Centre Pompidou opens the ball with Bernard Szajner’s original creation “Evolution”. Le Point Éphémère hosts the Space In Faders electronic production show for two days, while Le Petit Bain invites you to rediscover all the artists of the Franco-Vietnamese float live at the Phénix Electriq evening.
Paris Electronic Week officially kicks off on Wednesday September 24 on the Berges de Seine with La Mini Parade Verte, introducing young audiences to electronic music, dance and waste sorting. On Friday, September 26, Supernova Project will be in charge of an evening at Point Éphémère, featuring visual artists and live performances.
Punctuated by a series of parties and professional meetings, Paris Electronic Week will conclude with a record store market at Glazart on Sunday September 28.
From September 13 to 28, 2014, the Technopol – Techno Parade association is cornering electronic music fans for a fortnight of festivities!
A MOTTO: “FREEDOM, DIVERSITY, RHYTHMICITY
By taking over the streets of Paris and opening up the spectrum of electronic music, the Techno Parade is also a way of encouraging the expression of diversity and reminding everyone of their right to reclaim public space. The choice of this theme by the Technopol association is also a call to public authorities to encourage the organization of electronic events outside their walls.
Under the motto “Liberté, Diversité, Rythmicité” (Freedom, Diversity, Rhythmicity), Techno Parade 2014 calls on everyone to get together and express themselves in the idyllic setting of the Parisian streets.
DIRTYPHONICS” SPONSOR OF THE TECHNO PARADE
The non-conformist band Dirtyphonics is sponsoring this 16th edition of the Techno Parade.
These three prodigies make a mockery of all labels, drawing inspiration from a musical background that ranges from rock and metal to dubstep, drum’n’bass and electro. The trio, who explore and innovate in all styles of electronic music, have built up a solid reputation that extends far beyond our borders, as demonstrated by their many appearances at festivals around the world.
As spokespersons for the fusion of genres, sponsors Dirtyphonics promise an intense, explosive performance.
“VIETNAM”, GUEST OF HONOR
EVENT ORGANIZED AS PART OF THE FRANCE-VIETNAM YEAR – NAM VIET NAM-PHAP 2013-2014
The Vietnamese electronic scene is honored as part of the France-Vietnam year initiated by the Institut Français.
The Franco-Vietnamese “Phénix Electriq” float, decorated by artist Pat Cam, will open the procession with DJ Jase, DJ Jin and Slo-Lo, spearheads of the Vietnamese bass music scene, joined by three Franco-Vietnamese artists, including dubstep, hip-hop, electro and manga duo Tha Trickaz, DJ Yellow and his twenty years of exploration in electronica and deep-house, and Nick V, who will distill the best of his vinyl collection.
This meeting of artists from different horizons will be an opportunity to question our relationship with our roots, and to grasp the different ways of living and composing the same music according to two parallel paths.
“DREAM NATION FESTIVAL”, OFFICIAL EVENING OF THE TECHNO PARADE
For the first time in Paris, all the major electronic music families will come together in a single event for a masterful ten-hour party at Les Docks de Paris.
The legendary warehouses of the city’s general stores, listed as a national cultural heritage site, will resound to the sounds of the major electronic trends of the last twenty years, with four stages dedicated respectively to the eight major trends: electro, techno, drum’n’bass, dubstep, trance, progressive, hardtechno and hardcore. The evening promises to be electric, with light shows, video installations and atypical decors to welcome the 15,000 expected participants.
