A new Scotch Whisky born of the double barrel-burning process

HARDFIRED BALLERINAS

Ballantine’s Hard Fired, an innovation that overturns Whisky codes

No. 1 Scotch Whisky in Europe and No. 2 Scotch Whisky brand in the world, Ballantine’s is launching a Scottish blend in March 2016 that shakes up Scotch Whisky tradition: Ballantine’s Hard Fired. A new addition to the whisky category that confirms Ballantine’s winning strategy for continued growth.

Ballantine’s Hard Fired is a Scotch whisky whose manufacturing process reveals a new aromatic dimension of Ballantine’s. Ballantine’s Hard Fired goes beyond traditional cask burning to offer a Scotch whisky aimed at consumers seeking authenticity and a different tasting experience. Each Bourbon cask selected for ageing is hand-burned twice, releasing notes of vanilla, smoke and spice.
Ballantine’s Hard Fired is the result of a special manufacturing process. From the outset, a team dedicated to maintaining barrel quality, a key element in the aging process, selects bourbon barrels one by one. The Ballantine’s coopers then carry out a second, hand-crafted burn of the casks, assessing the intensity and duration of the operation with the naked eye.
