Jägermeister, a drink as mythical as it is little-known in France, recently invited us for a tasting session in their hunting pavilion in the Buttes-Chaumont: Le Pavillon Puebla for its first “Secret Ingredient Hunt”.

Jägermeister, which means master hunter in German, originates from Wolfenbüttel in Germany, and is a herbal liqueur. Its recipe is made up of 56 secret ingredients: herbs, fruits, spices, roots… The mysterious liquid undergoes 383 quality controls each time it is made. Jägermeister is best known as a shot in France, but very little known as a cocktail, especially as a Long Drink.

Here are a few recipes for these cocktails

GINGER BEER

4 cl J.germeister

. of lime

1-2 slices cucumber

Fresh ginger beer

PURPLE STAG

50ml Jagermeister

25ml Chambord

25ml Berry Tea

1 tsp blackcurrant jam

12.5ml lemon pr.ss.

12/5ml Monin gum syrup

3 fresh stock

JAGER NEGRONI

25ml Jagermeister

25ml Campari

25ml Gin

Garnish the glass

orange zest

These 3 cocktails will be on the menu at Pavillon Puebla for a few weeks. There’s plenty more to discover on site.
