Château Mouton Rothschild 2015: new label, new signature

Since 1945, a great artist has illustrated the Château Mouton Rothschild label every year. The result is a collection that brings together some of the most famous names in contemporary art, with a new work added every year. The label for the 2015 vintage, with its slightly modified presentation, bears the mark of the new generation that succeeded Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, who passed away in 2014: Camille Sereys de Rothschild, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild. It is signed by Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, representing the three family owners. The illustration of the 2015 vintage was entrusted to German artist Gerhard Richter, born in 1932, a prodigious inventor of pictorial forms and techniques. Renowned the world over, his work is based on the dialectical relationship between painting and photography, figuration and abstraction. His work for Mouton is the fruit of a random yet skilfully elaborate process he calls Flux. The artist photographs colors in motion, captured at the ideal moment of their composition: in the same way, harmonious blending gives fine wine, living matter, its balance and fullness.

In addition to the exceptional quality of the 2015 vintage and the international renown of German artist Gerhard Richter, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild will now sign the Mouton Rothschild label on behalf of the three family owners.

This signature is in keeping with the legacy of Baron Philippe de Rothschild and his daughter, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, because… Mouton never changes!
