A few days ago, Yves Saint Laurent and Kering announced the appointment of Anthony Vaccarello as Artistic Director of the Yves Saint Laurent house.
Anthony Vaccarello, 36, of Belgian nationality, was Artistic Director of his eponymous brand, founded in 2009 after two years at Fendi. He also worked for three years at Versus Versace, first as an independent consultant and then, since 2015, as Artistic Director. A graduate of the prestigious Belgian art and design school La Cambre, Anthony Vaccarello is recognized as one of the most talented emerging creative minds of our time. He won the grand prize at the International Fashion & Photography Festival in Hyères in 2006 and was the winner of the ANDAM Fashion Award in 2011. With his mastery of tailoring techniques and the precision of his cut, Anthony Vaccarello’s influences and references are strongly reminiscent of the spirit of the house of Yves Saint Laurent.

Anthony Vaccarello’s first collection for the house will be presented in October 2016 during the Spring/Summer 2017 season’s fashion week in Paris.
