Collaborations between sports classics and designers are never-ending. The trend is on a roll, bringing together innovative designers – from the most underground to the best-known, from the big names in luxury to the rising stars – and bringing them face to face with the world of sport. Sportswear is no longer just functional: it must also be aesthetically pleasing. Conversely, the world of fashion seems to have always been inspired by sport: polo shirts, pleated tennis skirts and large soccer shirts.

With their reciprocal influences, it was only natural that in the age of capsule collections, collaborations between sportswear and ready-to-wear brands should flourish.

Adidas is a master of its craft. At the last Men’s Fashion Week, the public was able to discover the fruit of the latest collaboration with Rick Owens, but also with Juun.J .

After learning from many prestigious designers, the young man launched his label in 2007. His garments focus on the idea of deconstruction: having mastered the rules of tailoring, Junn. J can play with the classics and reveal new facets.

For Adidas, the young designer has adapted the ZX8000 model to the spirit of his collection: a structure dictated in a military manner. Available since July in low or high models, Velcro fastenings have been added: a reminder of the practicality and framed spirit of exploration in a hostile environment. Rather than reverting to the khaki tone (in keeping with military logic), a more modern choice has been made: the minimalist white and black, with glossy-toned soles to bring a hint of luxury to the original model.
