Rolex, Exclusive Watch of the Opéra National de Paris

On the occasion of the 2016-2017 season of the Opéra national de Paris, Rolex, a major partner of the arts world, reiterates its support for this unique creative venue as the Opera’s Exclusive Watch since 2014.

True to Hans Wilsdorf’s founding vision, Rolex has been accompanying renowned artists such as German tenor Jonas Kaufmann and Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva since the 1970s,
two Rolex Testimonies in the new opera season calendar , and is associated with prestigious programs such as Operalia, the international singing competition founded by Placido Domingo.

The Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiativea philanthropic initiative designed to associate promising young artists with great masters for a year in a personalized creative relationship, is part of this dynamic.

Three works by mentors from the Rolex Mentor & Protégé program have also been added to the Ballet de l’Opéra repertoire:
by William Forsythe (“Blake works”),Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker (“Drumming Live”) and Philip Glass (“In Creases”).

  • September 26 to October 9: “In Creases”. Music by Philip Glass and choreography by Justin Peck
  • September 26 to October 9: “Blake works”. Music by James Blake and choreography by William Forsythe
  • October 31 to November 27, 2016: “Les Contes d’Hoffmann ” with Jonas Kaufmann
  • January 18 to February 18, 2017: “Lohengrin” with Jonas Kaufmann
  • May 16 to June 14, 2017: “Eugene Onegin” with Sonya Yoncheva
  • July 1-15, 2017: “Drumming Live”. Music by Steve Reich and choreography by Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker
