For Moncler Genius, Anderson offers a selection of his most iconic pieces, taking pieces from the archives of his house, JW Anderson – such as the Riviera hat or the ruffled shorts – reinterpreting them with the down technique to create a new approach to these well-known shapes. Everything is designed to be worn equally by men and women: the collection has an extremely playful spirit. Jackets with padded zips, voluminous padded scarves, wide-brimmed hats and shorts form the basic elements for creating color- and shape-driven looks, while sculptural motifs such as raised polka dots and protruding peaks further add to the three-dimensionality.
Red, light blue, yellow, pink, black, white and navy blue are worked in monochrome blocks or contrasting juxtapositions, while materials play between matte and shiny. The country spirit blends with that of the city: duck prints decorate long sleeveless down jackets, worn over double-faced coats. Trench coats and military-style knitwear with patch pockets complete the range, which is accessorized with soft folding boots and quilted bags. Moncler’s technical simplicity takes on an abstract twist.
