La 8 Iéna is open until mid-September 2014 non-stop from 12:00 to 22:30
During the summer, Parisians are on the lookout for beautiful spots to soak up the sun and dine in style. La 8 Iéna is the Shangri La’s chic terrace. Here you can enjoy refined cuisine.
Since the beginning of June, the Shangri-La Hotel, Paris has been showing off its finest features with La 8 Iéna, its new terrace located in the hotel’s forecourt and directly accessible from the Avenue d’Iéna. The menu has been specially designed by Executive Chef Philippe Labbé.
With Bossa Nova music playing in the background and the sun shining brightly on the day we arrived, we had all the ingredients for a great time. We start with a little cocktail: the Little Island, made with rum, passion fruit and cinnamon. A treat! The menu is extremely tempting, and it takes 10 minutes to make up your mind.
We start with the 8 Iena salad, featuring delicious baby vegetables with a fennel sauce. We then move on to a grilled bass with fennel brunoise. Just right.

The service is meticulous. People come back regularly to see if everything’s going well. On this particular day, the clientele is made up of businessmen in suits and international tourists.
For dessert, a strawberry salad with mint jelly and two madeleines.
All in all, this terrace really is a pretty spot for summer. If you want to feast, expect to pay around 50 euros for the à la carte menu. Excellence comes at a price.
