The new My Little Paris book: Words Parisians miss

1In bookshops since October 17, My Little Paris is back with a book that’s very much home-grown: Les mots qui manquent aux parisiens, written by Amandine Péchiodat and Jean-Loup Chiflet.

Genre specialist Jean-Loup Chiflet and Amandine Péchiodat, editor-in-chief of mylittleparis.com, have come up with some 200 words to add to the Parisian vocabulary. Arranged in alphabetical order as in a real dictionary, all these invented words perfectly illustrate all the situations Parisians can encounter. The adventures of the metro, the vélib, the bus, the Made in Paris bad times, hipsters and other fashionistas. All of these caricatured and magnified foibles of real Parisians, characterized by words and lots of humor. The accompanying drawings are by Kanako Kuno, a regular contributor to My Little Paris.
