On June 11, 2013, renowned watchmaker Audemars Piguet hosted a prestigious evening in honor of the opening of Swiss contemporary art fair Art Basel at Basel’s Volkshaus. A major event to celebrate the artistic partnership between the watchmaking house and Art Basel, it welcomed over 300 guests as well as French DJ group C2C for an exclusive private concert.
For one evening, in a specially designed area of the Volkshaus, guests, including gallery owners and collectors, enjoyed a projection of the work of renowned British photographer Dan Holdsworth, commissioned to immortalize the Vallée du Joux, the birthplace of Audemars Piguet. An exceptional tribute to the partnership sealed between the watchmaking house and the Swiss contemporary art fair Art Basel, which is in keeping with a pertinent artistic logic. Jasmine Audemars, Chairman of the Audermars Piguet Board of Directors, comments: “This is a great moment, the first time Audemars Piguet has been present at Art Basel as an Associate Sponsor (…) We have a long tradition of excellence in ‘savoir-faire’ and we are proud of our creative vision and independent spirit”.
True to its commitment to innovation and creativity, Audermars Piguet is embarking on a long-term partnership with Art Basel, extending from the next contemporary art event, at Art Basel Miami from December 5 to 8, 2013.
