The 66th edition of the Cannes Film Festival opened on Wednesday evening, and the most glamorous of festivals always keeps its promises, celebrating cinema without forgetting charm. In true Cannes tradition, the biggest stars walked the legendary red carpet, and what could be more natural than to be dressed by Hedi Slimane for Saint-Laurent for the occasion? After dressing Daft Punk and, as we just learned, Keith Richards, guitarist of the Rolling Stones, Hedi Slimane is now dressing the Croisette. In his creations, we saw Leonardo Dicaprio at the photocall to present his latest film, Gatsby the Magnificent, in a gray wool gabardine suit and cotton poplin shirt, then walking up the steps with the film’s other actor, Toby Maguire, both in magnificent black powder grain tuxedos, cotton voile shirt and the essential black silk bow tie. Jennifer Meyer-Maguire was also present in Saint-Laurent in a black chiffon gown, gold plumetis and cassandra clutch. We were also delighted to see Vanessa Paradis at the Grand Journal premiere, giving us a live performance of her latest single Love Song in a sublime powder-grain Saint-Laurent black tuxedo. The Cannes Film Festival is just the beginning. Who willHedi Slimane be dressing next?
