An enchantment of the senses
Shakira took an active part in the development of her first fragrance, working alongside experts
parfumeurs. In the process, it was her spontaneous reaction to the blend of natural jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla that shaped the creative direction of the project. The end result is S by Shakira: a fragrance with an inimitable character, combining Shakira’s seductive, sensual Latin facet with the mystery and richness of her oriental origins. Three simple accords unite to reflect three facets of
Shakira. Together, they constitute her essence.
Jasmin Lumineux: “I’ve always loved the aroma of fresh jasmine on a summer’s evening…”
Jasmin lumineux is a very feminine accord. A bouquet of white flowers dominated by the richness and
voluptuousness of a specific variety of jasmine: Sambac jasmine, originally from India, less fruity than the classic
jasmine. Combined with the freshness of orange blossom and the modernity of gardenia, it lends luminosity,
vivacity and transparency to the fragrance. An accord that reflects the vitality, spontaneity and femininity of
Shakira.
Sensual freshness of Sandalwood: “There’s something sensual and mysterious about the aroma of
sandalwood that I wanted to convey in my fragrance. “. It’s a woody accord, full of richness,
texture and femininity. A combination of woody freshness and musk, featuring sandalwood
to give the fragrance a creamy, enveloping aspect.
An oriental dream: “I’ve always loved sweet, comforting aromas like honey, chocolate
or strawberries. Essences that take our senses on a journey. This is the basis and soul of S by Shakira. Created at
from the fusion of resins such as benzoin, an amber accord and vanilla, it transports us to
the atmosphere of the Middle and Far East to tell us about Shakira’s oriental roots, her more mysterious and sensual side
. S by Shakira is a purely oriental fragrance: the sensual caress of a
breeze laden with jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla. “I think this fragrance is one of those songs
whose melody ends up becoming unforgettable, with just a few simple notes and chords; a
melody that expresses a lot, touches our hearts and captivates our senses. The simplest songs
are always the best.”

A bottle distilling the spirit of music
The S by Shakira bottle expresses luminosity in all its purity. A design that conveys a sensation of fluidity and movement, with shapes as sensual as those of an oriental dancer.
Depending on the angle from which it is viewed, the bottle reflects light in different ways and seems to adopt
new shapes and colors, a sensation that varies according to the moment. “I wanted the bottle to be much more than just an ordinary bottle; I wanted people to immediately sense that it contained something special. Not to mention the S symbol, which is like a pendant, an amulet that I wanted to offer with the fragrance.” The outer packaging also plays with light, with its different textures and the contrast of gold with the purity of white. Shakira’s symbol, the letter “S”, stands out with depth, like the artist’s seal.
” S by Shakira is my signature fragrance… There was no better name possible than the first letter of my first name. The letter ‘S’ represents so many things that are important to me: simplicity, sensuality, self… These are values I wanted to infuse into the product and the design.”
