What is Movember? It’s a charity event that takes place every year throughout November. All men are invited to grow a moustache throughout the month for the benefit of the community. r help raise awareness of typical male health problems. Men lack information about the health problems they can face, such as prostate cancer, which kills over 8,000 men in France every year, and are reluctant to consult a doctor in the event of illness, and to have regular check-ups. The aim of Movember is to change this attitude, to make men’s health fun by putting a moustache on the fashion face, and at the same time to help raise awareness of serious men’s health issues.
For the 13th edition of Movember, 5 chefs are getting involved: Fabien Chivot from the Parisian restaurant Moustache, Julien Hagnery, former Top Chef contestant, Thieery Bassard from the Palais de Tokyo restaurant Tokyo Eat, Julien Gaudet home chef and Adrien Nehry-Biabaud, who works at the Pieds Nickeles canteen. Movemberis also, and above all, a moment of conviviality around the moustache and men’s health. In the kitchen, chefs are on hand to provide Mo Bros and Mo Sistas with ideas for tasty dishes to share with friends and family. And what better way to work up an appetite and loosen tongues than with a good Mo Bro recipe. Mo Bros, Mo Sistas, Sunday cooks or experienced restaurateurs, get your spatulas ready! It’s the perfect opportunity to issue dinner invitations and get down to business, breaking down the taboos surrounding men’s health. In addition to the recipes from Movember‘s Chefs Ambassadors, everyone is free to create their own recipes and send them to Movember via www.facebook.com/MovemberFrance. The most inventive and tasty will be published on the Facebook page and rewarded with invitations to the Gala Parté on Saturday November 30, the official closing evening of Movember 2013.
