THE FABULOUS STORY OF A SELF-MADE MAN
At the age of 20, when Eugène Mercier created his brand, he was unknown, from nothing. He was a “self-made man” guided by a generous and revolutionary idea: to make Champagne accessible to all!
An anti-conformist, he was the first to list his Champagne in Parisian department stores such as Le Bon Marché at the beginning of the 20th century.
A visionary, he was also the precursor of numerous buzz and publicity stunts: tasting Champagne Mercier in a captive balloon above the Eiffel Tower, Paris-Epernay in the Orient-Express to reach the Mercier cellars, a gigantic foudre.
