One evening at Zebra Square…

Located in the 16th arrondissement, the Zebra Square is a 5-star hotel. The location no doubt appeals to many Parisian party-goers who knew the establishment back in the days when it housed a nightclub in the basement. The Zebra Square underwent a facelift in 2011 and is now a chic but not stuffy hotel. We were tempted to try out their table during a dinner…

As soon as we arrive, we discover a spacious room with contemporary furnishings and a thickly carpeted floor. It’s time to get down to business.

The appetizers are refined and very light, and go wonderfully well with a glass of champagne as an aperitif. We then take a look at the deliberately confusing menu. Starters and main courses are mixed so that customers can indulge their cravings.
We are tempted by a truly succulent tartare of sea bream. Zebra Square works with a local fishmonger. The fish is good and well seasoned.
The next course is a melting slab of rump steak. A real treat! Small ramekins of French fries and spinach add a playful touch to this tasting experience. The meat comes from Hugo Desnoyer. A benchmark! The à la carte menu also includes mouth-watering beef ribs.

For dessert, we’re not disappointed by the homemade vanilla crème brulée.
In the dining room, a few tourists and locals dine peacefully. At lunchtime, the restaurant welcomes many customers from Radio France, just around the corner, from NRJ radio and the CSA. The atmosphere is bubbling. Robbie Williams was here on his last visit to Paris.
The owner, Johan Derderian, is a dynamic young man in his thirties. He makes sure that everything is perfect, both in the dining room and in the kitchen, with an eye for detail.
In short, an address we recommend above all for the quality of its products. Gourmets won’t be disappointed. What’s more, prices are reasonable.
