
W Hotels Worldwide marks its entry into France with the opening of its new W Paris – Opéra hotel on February 14.
The result of a fusion between the energy of New York and the sophistication of Paris, W Hotels unveils the innovative design of its new establishment, conceived by the highly reputed Rockwell Group Europe.
The hotel’s design is organized around an undulating digital wall that defines the heart of the building, “The Spark”, which will appear in the form of a dotted matrix that forms abstract clouds and will adopt different tempos to punctuate the ambience throughout the seasons.
“Our aim is to transform this historic building into a W hotel that literally shines thanks to innovative and unexpected details, materials and technologies,” comments Diego Grond, Director and Creative Director of Rockwell Group Europe, who designed the hotel’s quarters in a prestigious Haussmann building opposite the Garnier opera house. Ornate columns, vaulted ceilings, marble staircases and fireplaces have been restored and blended with contemporary elements, while the original stained-glass windows and mosaic floors will be preserved to bear witness to the building’s heritage.
The hotel will feature 91 stylish rooms, including 20 suites and two Extreme WOW suites in a contemporary, spacious design and a magnificent view of the Opéra Garnier. In the rooms, unexpected elements have been created by Parisian artists especially for the W Hotel – Opéra.

Close to Galeries Lafayette, Place Vendôme and numerous cultural venues, the W Hotel – Opéra also boasts its own Signature restaurant and bar, and a gym, while lounges and mezzanines are at guests’ disposal, offering splendid views of the city.
To mark the occasion, W Paris Opéra is launching “The Switch”, its digital lifestyle magazine. Directed by Sarah Hay (journalist for The Times, GQ, Vogue and i-D), the magazine brings together articles, playlists, interviews and reporting on must-see Parisian events. Aimed at an international audience of trend-setters, “The Switch” reflects W’s core values of music, fashion and design.
Before the inauguration, “The Switch” will present teasers about the hotel and interviews with W ambassadors, chosen from among the most influential personalities in Parisian life. Jewelry duo Yazbukey will be one of the first “Paris Insiders.
The opening of this new hotel marks an important step in the expansion of the W brand worldwide. Indeed, the contemporary and innovative brand, proud of its style combining design, fashion and music, already has 41 hotels and resorts in the four corners of the world, in the most captivating and exotic cities.
