After a resounding success on the Terrazza Martini in Cannes during the film festival and on the Terrasse Martini Champs-Elysées this summer, the cocktail highlight of 2011 is now immortalized. We saw it at fashion week for the opening of the Bar Martini at the Opéra Garnier.

Resurrecting the Opera’s wild evenings

The MARTINI® Bar takes center stage in the new Opéra restaurant at the Palais Garnier. In this temple of dance and classical music, MARTINI® has found the perfect setting, superbly refurbished by architect Odile Decq.
The installation of a restaurant and bar was planned by the young architect of the time, Charles Garnier, from the outset. We had to wait 136 years to see this wish realized. Not upstairs, in the glacier rotunda, but on the first floor, under the high arches that allowed spectators in horse-drawn carriages to disembark in cou- vert. Neglected and unoccupied, the space that at the end of the 19th century hosted the revelers of Paris’s famous masked and transvestite ball deserved to be revived. Thanks to MARTINI®, the festive spirit of the Palais Garnier could well be reawakened…

A “whimsical-chic” decor
No reserved tickets are required to access the bar’s entrance, which is guarded by several bronze, light-bearing female figures. The décor is a show in itself. White scrolls, a kind of solid cloud, designed by architect Odile Decq, gently wrap the stone pillars and sublimate the high ceilings. Scarlet armchairs and banquettes underline the clarity of the tables and the luminous black of the astonishing bar, which is almost triangular in shape but knows how to round off its angles. Black, white and red, the three colors of the MARTINI logo …

Bathed in light during the day, this “whimsical-chic”, even fantastical, setting seems to be caressed by the evening glow. The space takes on an air of space and time. A UFO, in fact, with seating for just over 350.
On the terrace’s 500 m2 of cobblestone pavement, the furniture plays dominoes: red for the chairs, white for the tables and the very graphic parasols, stretched like sails in the wind. This exceptional terrace, nestled at the foot of the Opera’s eastern facade, is already attracting rave reviews, and is busy until late on summer nights. Come and discover its assets in the early hours of the morning for an unusual breakfast. And come back in the early evening, at Italian time (sette e mezzo, i.e. 7:30 p.m.) to enjoy an aperitivo away from the traffic.
Ideally located in the center of Paris, nestled in a spectacular setting, the MARTINI Bar at the Opéra Garnier is already “the place to be”. A chic break for glamorous after-work, or a delicious intermission between two stages, the MARTINI® Bar is already attracting opera, dance and cocktail lovers.

And because good things come in pairs, Martini Bianco Royale is available in a designer Martini Royale Circle box, featuring a bottle of Martini Bianco, a bottle of Martini Prosecco and two pool glasses screen-printed with the famous Italian brand logo.
