The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte inaugurates its magical “Candlelit Evenings” from Saturday, May 7 to October 8, 2011. A nocturnal tour of the château and garden will be conducted by the light of two thousand candles, offering a new and romantic way to discover Vaux-le-Vicomte.
A château transformed into a Palace of Lights
From 8pm, no fewer than two thousand candles are lit inside the château and in the magnificent garden designed by Le Nôtre: a spectacle combining charm and poetry. This festival of light is combined with classical music, like a journey through time.

A fireworks display brings the evening to a close over the Grand Canal.
Lying back in deckchairs, visitors relive a memorable page in history, that of Nicolas Fouquet’s celebration at Vaux-le-Vicomte on August 17, 1661. Les Charmilles restaurant, located in the heart of the gardens, offers a breathtaking view of the illuminated château. Chef Laurent Asset offers a refined à la plancha menu for al fresco dining in this incredibly magical, subdued setting, an atmosphere of absolute romance and
unforgettable.
An ephemeral champagne bar by Henriot allows you to extend this moment of refinement, comfortably seated in the garden.
