“80s”
Back to the Claude Montana years

He was sometimes called the king of the shoulder pad! Claude Montana worked leather like no one else, inventing architectural, glamorous silhouettes for the women of the 80s that marked an entire era. An inspired colorist, he also loved cashmere and silk, which he used in bright or muted tones, but always plain. Although he no longer designs, his style has left its mark on our collective memory, and his perfume “Parfum de Peau”, with its extraordinary twisted bottle, is still an icon.
In taking over Parfums Montana, Empire of Scents wanted to recapture the brand’s DNA by going back to the basics.
In the midst of the eighties revival, we return to our roots with a new women’s fragrance aptly named… 80!

The fragrance of a sexy party girl who knows how to have fun, Montana’s “80” takes us back to the early eighties, a time of nightlife and partying.
There’s still a certain carefree air in the air, with people working during the day to have a better time at night. After the great common causes, individual success was the new ideal. At night, the Palace in Paris and Studio 54 in New York shine brightly. Under the mirror balls, body-built bodies, dressed in extravagant, brightly-colored outfits highlighted with lurex, sway to the sound of disco, new wave or the first rap hits. By day, women, exhilarated by their first professional conquests, flaunt dominating looks, with structured haircuts, oversized tops and heady perfumes bursting with white flowers…

Montana’s “80” is a contemporary reinterpretation of these legendary fragrances. An intoxicating, sensual,
and completely addictive floral-oriental.

A modern take on the great iconic juices of the ’80s.
When Antoine Lie from “Givaudan” was asked to create a new ’80s-themed fragrance for Parfums Claude Montana, he was immediately enthusiastic about the project. A child of the decade, Montana is for him a flagship brand, an absolute reference.
Highly motivated, he built on a very 80s structure of heady white flowers – tuberose, orange blossom – to propose a more fluid, modern style.

At the top, the “80s” party begins with a sweet/peppery mix of mandarin orange and pink berries. An original cocktail that immediately makes you want to know more…

The heart of “80” beats to the rhythm of a sublime tuberose, queen of white flowers, interpreted here in an ultra-modern way. Treated as a “send treck” (i.e., captured in its living splendor, as you breathe it in on its stem, exhaling its fragrance), this new-generation tuberose gives “80” all its modernity. Orange blossom, another typical white flower, is twisted with a green bay leaf to give the fragrance a very contemporary tone. Powdery iris adds an extra touch of softness.

The base note, with its creamy, milky notes, takes us into the night. Sandalwood and cedar, treated in a less vanilla-like way than in the 80s, combine with amber for a stunningly sensual finish.

The bottle
With its rounded shapes highlighted in gold, the “80” bottle is a tribute to the playful, elegant design of the Montana years. The golden lines underlining the contours of the body and cap form an easily identifiable 8.

The case
All in white, the case is a reminder of the creamy white note that structures the fragrance. In a final nod to the fragrance, with its golden figure tracing a stylized zero, the case, placed to the right of the bottle, forms an “80”!
