We couldn’t have asked for better weather for this first evening of the spring-summer 2011 men’s presentations. The sun has finally returned to the capital and with it, the outfits have definitely taken on a summery lightness, as we could see in front of Francisco van Benthum.
In the courtyard in front of the Erard hall, the guests were taking the air, along with the models. There I met Jose Duran, a young designer who presented his latest collection last night in Paris and who now takes advantage of his days in Paris to see the shows of other designers and Rui Delgado, who works in press relations.

Finally called to order by the hour, everyone went inside shortly after Didier Grumbach’s arrival.
Francisco van Benthum presents for the fifth season in Paris and the spring-summer 2011 BRAVE season draws its origins in the military wardrobe and its evolutions.
Light fabrics, shiny materials, van Benthum gives the impression of capturing the sun even indoors. Each fold catches the light to better highlight the structure of the silhouette. Light fabrics such as cold wool, linen and silk coated for shine, cotton poplein are presented in a palette of light khaki, white, beige but also anthracite and black, enhanced by a touch of egg yolk or blood red occasionally, as if to punctuate a well-crafted narrative.
