The Chorey-lès-BeaunesLesBonsOres2020 from Domaine Jean Féry is made from 100 year old pinot noir vines, which are spread over a 0.40 hectare plot with a southern exposure at the bottom of the hillside. It is the oldest vine of the plot. The manual pruning is done in Guyot Simple. Harvesting is also done by hand with the grapes placed in small boxes to avoid compacting the grapes until they are taken to the winery. The whole cuvée is aged in barrels with 30% of new barrels finely chosen from different coopers with Blonde toastings. These choices bring woody tannins in harmony with the finesse of the vintage.
Chorey-lès-BeaunesLesBonsOres 2020 is in official conversion to organic viticulture.
The soil is characterized by marl and limestone alluvium on stony grounds, sometimes with ferruginous nuances, which have descended from the coast over the millennia. A layer of gravel on the outskirts of Aloxe-Corton makes it a silty soil rich in “chailles” and Savigny-lès-Beaune. The very dry sandy subsoil is favorable to the vine.
The 2020 vintage appears to be early, dry and warm. The fermentation takes place in new barrels with a light toasting.
The Chorey-lès-BeaunesLesBonsOres2020 of DomaineJeanFérysis a versatile Burgundy. Subtle and delicate, it delivers a fruity nose and offers a round, friendly and fluid mouth that does not overwhelm balanced and harmonious dishes.
Chorey-lès-Beaunes LesBonsOres 2020 of Domaine JeanFéry is available at a price of €26 including tax.
