A precious legacy of Georges Hine, Chevalier du Mérite Agricole, who in 1920 created the very first blend of Antique XO, the emblematic cognac of the Maison Hine a century after its creation. To celebrate its anniversary, this limited edition was created. A four-handed workshop with two noses, cellar masters Eric Forget and Pierre Boyer have created a special cut in which the original Antique XO blend is enriched with eau-de-vie from the 1920 vintage, preciously preserved in dame-jeanne in the Réserve du Paradis under the Maison Hine.
A great cognac is originally a great white wine
The identity of this wine is imprinted in the soils where the roots of the Grande Champagne vines are anchored, the terroir of choice for Maison Hine. The cognacs are distilled on fine lees, for exalted aromatic richness, and the eaux-de-vie are aged in moderately toasted French oak barrels to preserve finesse and reveal the fruit. Antique XO ” 100th Anniversary 1920-2020 ” is a blend of over forty eaux-de-vie made from Ugni Blanc grapes planted on the chalky, limestone terroir of Grande Champagne, the region’s premier cru.
