Welcome to a new hybrid venue in the heart of Paris! Normandy Le Chantier, in place of the former Normandy Hotel, the legendary hotel in the Rue Saint-Honoré district with its imposing Haussmann architecture dating back to 1877, began a renovation program in 2019. Normandy Le Chantier was born in 2019, a hybrid concept imagined by Machefert Group, to be discovered in the heart of the capital until 2021. The concept behind Normandy Le Chantier is to create a harmonious cohabitation between workers and hotel guests, the leitmotiv behind the creation of this ephemeral, experimental project.
During the construction period, the Normandy Hotel will lend its walls to architects and builders (ex-hotel staff), workers (represented by hotel guests and real workers on site) and artists of all kinds, for an immersive experience in which each of them will make their own contribution. Owners, workers and artists will contribute, hand in hand, to the construction of the new Machefert Group hotel. In short, it’s a place for community life, where builders and workers will work together in joint workshops.
The “Normandy Le Chantier” concept will extend right through to the kitchens, with “Le Comptoir du Chantier”, a vegetable canteen and patisserie where you can eat, drink and snack at any time from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on October 17!
Gone are the traditional mason’s bowls! We’ve given way to an offer centered on naturalness and sharing, in a two-room setting featuring raw materials and furnishings inspired by the world of the building site: a large scaffolding-shaped buffet, metal crockery, PVC tiles, wooden crates, road signs… The second dining room is inspired by the old workers’ rest rooms of the 70s, with a touch of kitsch… In short, a new food hotspot that plays on contrasts and takes the worksite canteen concept in the wrong direction, reinventing its codes and adapting them to today’s consumer concerns.
Here, everyone is free to make the place their own in an artistic way, in keeping with the spirit of the site. Large table d’hôte for fans of conviviality or on the go, takeaway snacks or healthy aperitifs… Several gourmet options and seasonal products are available to suit your tastes… You’re free to sit down as you please.
Le comptoir du Chantier at 256 rue St Honoré, (Pyramides metro station), open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. for breakfasts, lunches and aperitifs.
