The star stars in an inspiring international campaign
to encourage people to live their pleasure to the full
Magnum announces its boldest collaboration yet with Iris Apfel, style icon, entrepreneur and modern-day muse. She appears in a new campaign, #NeverStopPlaying, which aims to encourage people to listen to themselves, so as to live moments of pleasure to the full. Iris Apfel appears in stunning, bold and colorful shots, immortalized by the inimitable duo of photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, as well as in a short film directed by Martin Werner.

“I’ve done a thousand and one things in my life, constantly trying to live without fear of being judged. Otherwise, you miss out on happiness! confides Iris Apfel, interviewed from the campaign photo shoot in Miami. I’m delighted by this collaboration with Magnum, which allows me to embody this state of mind, and I hope we’ll inspire everyone to do the same. Being able to allow yourself to be freer, more mischievous… I’ll make sure it stays that way! “

For this photo campaign, Magnum collaborated with iconic fashion photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, an uninhibited, hedonistic duo. Iris Apfel’s intrepid spirit and quirky, playful, vibrant style come to life under the lens of the two artists. The result: bold shots that can be seen all summer long in Magnum Pleasure Stores around the world, as well as on the brand’s Instagram account.
” We’ve been lucky enough to photograph some of the world’s greatest icons, so to add Iris to our list is a real treat,” says Mert Alas. Iris is a woman who lives life to the full, and her eyes are always sparkling. She’s exactly the kind of strong woman we love to photograph. We really wanted to bring out her personality in our shots.
IRIS APFEL, INTEMPORARY STAR OF A BRIGHT ADVERTISING SPOT
More fearless than ever, Iris Apfel is also starring in an advertising film. Directed by Martin Werner, two short films show how the star has pursued her quest for pleasure throughout her fascinating life.
“I really wanted this campaign to capture the essence of her personality, everything that makes her a captivating and inspiring character,” explains Martin Werner. The spots show how, even at 97, Iris continues her quest for pleasure. She has a great sense of humor and a bright, colorful style, and it was a real joy to shoot with her. “
