ROYAL ARCTIC, AN EXCLUSIVE TASTING EXPERIENCE WITH MOËT & CHANDON AT ROYAL MONCEAU – RAFFLES PARIS

WINTER TERRACE UNTIL FEBRUARY 14, 2019

This winter, the famous Parisian terrace of the Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris offers a spectacular experience in a majestic setting of frost and ice, elegantly celebrating the end-of-year season.

The central basin, given a carbon tint for the occasion, will be adorned with icebergs faceted into mirrors like ice sculptures, reflecting two futuristic igloos. These transparent tasting bubbles, encircled in steel and furnished in raw wood, will welcome up to six guests in their halo of light for a unique oenological exploration, that of the prestigious Cuvée MCIII. The ultimate expression of Moët & Chandon savoir-faire, MCIII is the House’s most exclusive version.

A singular wine, MCIII is the result of an unprecedented blend whose name refers to the three universes of wine ageing in which this exceptional cuvée takes place. Derived from three different worlds – metal, wood and glass – MCIII is based on a bold, unprecedented blend that pushes the limits of complexity and harmony.

The Cellar Master’s know-how and instinct preside over the blending of MCIII. Its elaboration is based on a new vision inspired by the evolution and unique characteristics of wines from different universes. Benoit Gouez, Chef de Cave at Moët & Chandon, describes it as “an eminently complex and harmonious wine combining powerful fruitiness, elegant palate and remarkable maturity”.

For the occasion, MCIII will be offered in harmony with the creations of the chefs of the Parisian palace’s restaurants. The Italian-influenced Il Carpaccio will feature a cuttlefish cannelloni with caviar and lemon cream, while the Peruvian-Japanese flavors of Matsuhisa Paris will include scallops with Jalapeno sauce, Saikyo Yaki black cod and Harumaki foie gras.

On the Royal Arctic terrace, Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2009 and Grand Vintage Rosé 2009 will also be available by the glass, along with a themed winter tapas menu featuring gourmet creations with truffles and caviar to enhance the wines. To be enjoyed while admiring the impressive futuristic creations, curled up between thick ebony cushions.
