The Art Élysées fair confirms its status as a not-to-be-missed event, with a large number of sales in all its sections: modern, contemporary and urban art, as well as in the design section. The high quality of the exhibits on the stands is appreciated by professionals, specifiers and visitors alike.
Now firmly established in the art market, the fair has become a benchmark for modern art. Each year, the fair welcomes more internationally renowned galleries, particularly in the 20th century section.

The organizers of Art Élysées have succeeded in creating a convivial atmosphere under their ephemeral structures set up on the Champs-Elysées avenue, a unique and prestigious venue. Art Élysées is also a “human” fair, in terms of both size and exchanges, with artists in the contemporary section often present and accessible to the public. At a time when all sectors of activity are undergoing numerous changes, particularly in terms of purchasing. For the art market sector, too, questions are being asked: gallery owners are struggling to attract buyers to their galleries, and are obliged to participate in fairs to gain access to the largest possible number of buyers and collectors. Art Élysées offers a warm and dynamic setting for exchanges, facilitating meetings and relationships between buyers and exhibitors, with many new contacts for most galleries and very positive feedback.
The fair included 100 galleries with the new urban contemporary art section, in Pavillon E, on the even side of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. 26 foreign galleries and 25 new galleries present this year. Art Élysées is expanding, at a complex time when other fairs are disappearing and being created. With this fourth pavilion integrated into the fair since 2017, the organizers are responding to strong demand from galleries, and enthusiasts of this more popular and accessible art.

This year, Art Élysées welcomed top-quality exhibitions and events, accompanied by exceptional partners who made this 12th edition even more attractive and qualitative. With a more demanding artistic direction and at the same time open to novelty, first with design and then with contemporary urban art. Expanding the fair to include a wider artistic panorama means renewing the dynamism and synergy of each new edition.

Last year Art Élysées recorded a record increase in attendance, with more than 39,000 visitors; in 2018, the fair recorded a slight drop in attendance of 8%, with more than 35,000 visitors over 6 days. A positive result all in all, with the vast majority of this drop applying to the number of admission tickets, which can be explained by the increase in the ticket price from 15 to 20 euros. Added to this were the vacations and fine weather, offering Parisians a fine Indian summer with spring-like temperatures. Around 8,700 visitors attended the afternoon trade show, a smaller number than last year, but with the notable presence of a more targeted visitor base.

From October 18 to 22, 2018 Art Élysées brought together a prestigious array of 59 contemporary and modern art galleries, 26 contemporary urban art galleries and 15 20th-century and contemporary design galleries. In all, nearly 800 artists were presented.
With around 100 galleries, the organizers are pleased and proud of this 12th edition, which heralds an even more demanding and promising 2019 edition.

At this year’s show, the organizers focused on the work of three artists from different backgrounds, Tristan Vyskoc, Patricia de Solages and Kongo, who were all involved in ecological issues. Their original exhibitions were showcased in the fair’s pavilions, and were a great success both artistically and on a human level, at a time when we are becoming increasingly aware of climate and ecological problems, and their catastrophic and irreparable consequences for the planet.
In the design section, Atelier Jespers was once again present with its #Itinéarance08 exhibition, confirming its interest in quality design in terms of both thought and materials.
We were also delighted to welcome our partner B Signature Hotels & Resorts to the fair, with its “imaginary collection”, in the spirit of the warm, chic and Parisian atmosphere of its hotels. We would like to thank B Signature Hotels & Resorts, Nathalie Marchal (artistic advisor for this exhibition) and the galleries who lent themselves to this exhibition and who were sensitive to this moment of encounter between the works and the public.

The 13th edition of Art Elysées will be held from October 17 to 21, 2019, with the professional afternoon and vernissage on October 16.
