L’Argus de la presse, unveils the results of its barometer* dedicated to the fashion houses most cited in the media and on the Web during Paris Fashion Week, which ran from September 25 to October 3, 2017.
Over the period, nearly 93,700 contributions cited the fashion houses in the context of Fashion Week. 50.5% of these contributions were published on Twitter, the leading channel of expression for this Fashion Week 2017. It was followed by Instagram, where 32% of contributions citing the fashion houses were published, followed by the editorial web (representing 16%) and other social networks (1.5%).
Louis Vuitton is the 2nd most quoted brand in the media and on the web. The opening of its new Flagship on rue Saint Honoré, and the launch of its new New Runner sneaker, undoubtedly contributed to this result. The inaugural evening of the Maison Louis Vuitton Vendôme also benefited from high visibility thanks to the presence of numerous celebrities such as Léa Seydoux, Catherine Deneuve, Will Smith, Cate Blanchett and Nicolas Ghesquière.
Yves Saint Laurent ranks 3rd among the most quoted houses in the media and on the Web, with almost 9,140 contributions citing the house during Fashion Week. The Yves Saint Laurent fashion show, held on September 26 on a stage set above the Trocadéro fountains, was a memorable event, which certainly explains the high number of mentions.
With almost 8,900 mentions, Balmain was the 4th most cited fashion house. Neymar’s presence at the Balmain fashion show on September 29 certainly explains the popularity of the brand on the Web and social networks, with almost 400 contributions citing the PSG player in connection with the Balmain fashion show.
*METHODOLOGY
The barometer was carried out by Argus de la presse over the period from September 25 to October 3, 2017.
This barometer was based on a scan of all French-language media: press (8953 press titles), audiovisual (3170 radio broadcasts and 2800 television broadcasts), web editorial (14437 websites) and social networks.
The distribution of voices corresponds to the presence of keywords (names of houses and people) searched on the total volume of documents.
