After taking her first steps in STAR WARS : THE REVEIL OF THE FORCE, Rey will continue her epic, intergalactic journey in the company of Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the Star Wars™ saga, currently titled STAR WARS: EPISODE VIIIfilming began this Monday, February 15, at Pinewood Studios in London.
STAR WARS: EPISODE VIIIwritten and directed by Rian Johnson, will continue the story begun with STAR WARS : THE REVEL OF THE FORCE, bringing back Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie and Andy Serkis. They will be joined by newcomers Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.
STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII
is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin and Tom Karnowski are executive producers. They are joined by a number of industry heavyweights, including cinematographer Steve Yedlin, chief editor Bob Ducsay, set designer Rick Heinrichs, “make-up and hair” manager Peter Swords and US casting manager Mary Vernieu. All are joined by the seasoned team who already know the Star Wars™ universe inside out, namely co-producer and post-production VP Pippa Anderson, “creatures and droids” creative supervisor Neal Scanlan, costume designer Michael Kaplan, props supervisor Jamie Wilkinson, special effects supervisor Chris Corbould, stunt coordinatorRob Inch, video effects supervisor Ben Morris and UK casting manager Nina Gold.
STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII will be the second part of the third Star Wars trilogy, which began with STAR WARS : THE FORCE AWAKENS.
Its release is scheduled for December 15, 2017.
