PERRIER-JOUËT BELLE ÉPOQUE ROSÉ 2005 “A LIMITED EDITION SIGNED BY VIK MUNIZ”.

The birth of a unique work
Champagne House Perrier-Jouët unveils a limited edition of its Belle Époque Rosé 2005 cuvée, signed by Vik Muniz, the famous Brazilian visual artist.
Vik Muniz stages the encounter between a hummingbird – a common bird in Brazil – which here takes on brilliant golden hues, and the anemones that adorn the bottle of his Belle Époque cuvées.
Vik Muniz turns this painting into a photographic composition, providing the inspiration for the decor of Belle Époque Rosé 2005 Limited Edition. The hummingbird appears at the heart of the bottle, flying past the anemones. The transparent bottle magnifies both the cuvée’s delicate salmon color and the artist’s work.
The artistic collaboration between Perrier-Jouët and Vik Muniz was born of a shared inspiration for the beauty of nature and a deep attachment to human know-how.
The artist defines himself above all as a true craftsman, adept at the handmade, working with raw materials that he transforms from everyday objects into works of art. Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health. Drink in moderation
A credo that Emile Gallé, pioneer of the Art Nouveau movement and creator in 1902 of the original bottle adorned with anemones, would have totally shared.
“Like Perrier-Jouët, which has long nurtured a passion for Art Nouveau and a love of nature, I drew inspiration for the motif from the sense of fascination felt in front of a natural setting,” explains Vik Muniz.
Cellar master Hervé Deschamps deliberately chose the Cuvée Belle Époque Rosé 2005 for this limited edition. Considered by Hervé Deschamps as ” the most daring champagne in the Belle Époque Collection “, this vintage is generous, voluptuous and complex. Chardonnay, the house’s chosen grape variety, predominates the blend, but the cuvée owes its great aromatic richness to the presence of Pinots Noirs, which give this vintage wine a salmon-pink tint. After several years’ ageing in the House cellars, Cuvée Belle Époque Rosé achieves the ideal balance between a vintage wine and the constant elegance of the Perrier-Jouët style.
This exceptional vintage will be sold exclusively as a limited edition.
Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque Rosé by Vik Muniz will be available in France in a limited edition for the festive season, in selected high-end wine merchants and delicatessens, at a price of 400 euros.
About Belle Époque Rosé 2005
The blend is made up of Grands Crus de Chardonnays (50%) – from the best vineyards of Cramant, Avize and Mesnil – selected for their elegance and freshness, plus Pinot Noir (45%) from Mailly, Aÿ, Verzy and Rilly. Pinot Meunier gives the Cuvée its beautiful consistency and roundness on the palate.
Tasting notes
To the eye: a light salmon-pink hue dominated by Pinot Noirs from the Vertus and Vinzelles regions.
On the nose: a complex, elegant bouquet dominated by fruity notes of strawberry, sweet and sour cherry and orange. This is followed by a hint of creaminess and spiciness.
On the palate: a generous, voluptuous presence. A fresh, lively attack enhanced by notes of candied orange, white peach and cocoa, followed by a rich, round finish.
