November 2014 will see the launch of the 12th edition of the “Frimousses de Créateurs” operation, organized by UNICEF France, an operation that is now a must in the world of fashion and art. Since 2003, fashion designers and contemporary artists have been working together to write the story of a collaboration under the banner of solidarity, by creating unique works embodying genuine works of art.
After Le Pari(s) merveilleux in 2013, this year the dolls will be singing a new verse in a vibrant tribute to the Opera. Creators, contemporary artists, designers and jewelers will create on the theme of Opera, Aria, etc., to bring out from backstage Frimousses more magnificent than ever, divine-diva creatures, dazzling dolls and artistic works to occupy the stage.
For the first time this year, these big-hearted Frimousses directed by Frédéric Fontan will be on display at the Théâtre du Châtelet for a week, from November 18 to 23, 2014, for all to enjoy. They will then be auctioned off on November 24, 2014, in the same venue.
As every year, many celebrities are supporting the operation, including Natalie Dessay, godmother of the edition, Nicolas Le Riche, godfather of the edition and Lara Fabian, godmother of heart of this new edition, united to make children’s voices heard.
The “Frimousses de Créateurs” operation is not just a showcase for talent and creativity, it is above all an outpouring of generosity and a commitment to solidarity with the children and pregnant women of Darfur. Indeed, all funds raised by the auction will go directly to support a vaccination project in these regions most
devastated by the fighting.
Every year, millions of children around the world still die from preventable diseases because they are not vaccinated. Yet vaccination, a highly effective and inexpensive means of preventing these deadly diseases from an early age, would make it possible to eradicate the scourges that affect thousands of children every day.
This is the battle waged every year by UNICEF France in the regions of Darfur, thanks to the “Frimousses de Créateurs”. In 2013, over €185,000 was sent into the field to finance vaccination campaigns, enabling 266,582 children and 182,165 pregnant women to be vaccinated against 6 preventable diseases (whooping cough, diphtheria, measles, tetanus, tuberculosis and polio).
