In 2014, MELLERIO dits MELLER is once again honoring the lily, Queen of flowers and flower of Queens.
To celebrate its 400th anniversary, in 2013 the House created a Jewelry and Haute Joaillerie collection in homage to Marie de Médicis, the Queen it was celebrating in this special year.
All inspired by the lily, the jewelry in this collection adorned the body and skin with sensuality and modernity.
Three Haute Joaillerie pieces, the “Secrets de Lys” Collection, take the themes dear to MELLERIO dits MELLER even further: grace, movement, sensuality, modularity.
I- The “Dentelles de Lys” Sautoir Necklace plays with the stamens of the lily, with their chiselled contours and generous volumes. Delicate stylized leaves dot the ensemble. The sensual, daring woman who tames this necklace can wear it in three ways, as she pleases: the oval 11.56-carat yellow diamond placed on the front of the neck, with the flanks formed by the stamens falling down the back or folded over the bodice around the diamond; or conversely, with the yellow diamond revealing the nape of the neck and magnifying the woman’s back, and the stamens coiled in the hollow of the breasts and sliding down the belly.
The thousands of diamonds, the suppleness of the joints and motifs, the light that plays on the platinum arabesques, the curved yet sharp lines give this Haute Joaillerie sautoir a free and assertive elegance.
II- This motif is also available as an earcuff. The same stamens cover the whole ear with voluptuous scrolls, the fall being perfectly completed by a delicately suspended lily leaf.
III- The third Haute Joaillerie piece interprets the lily in a more architectural, graphic version, with bold contours and daringly unstructured lines. The cascades of chain and angular shapes of the diamond-faceted lilies reflect the light with infinite force and brilliance.
This nomadic necklace also hides ingenious systems at the heart of the lilies and foliage, enabling it to be worn in at least eight different ways: a sautoir with the two flowers, a sautoir without the flowers, a necklace worn short, a necklace worn short with one flower, a bracelet, a bracelet with one flower, a brooch, earrings…
The three themes of the Médicis Collection, “Florissante”, “Evanescente” and “Luxuriante”, have been reinterpreted ad infinitum: more models, more variations, more colors. Tanzanites and opals take over from delicate white and grey pearls, rings become cuffs, fleurs-de-lis set entirely with diamonds are scattered on a velvet ribbon, the motif of a wedding ring becomes that of a creole, pearl buds unfurl in the hollow of the ear or as pendants…
All MELLERIO dits MELLER jewelers are constantly striving to push back the limits of their skill and know-how to achieve ever greater comfort, aestheticism, lightness, fluidity… to always be true to the grace of their style. In the 2014 opus of the Médicis Collection, the Maison has imagined original, innovative Haute Joaillerie pieces that live freely on a woman’s body: a brooch that can be worn as an earring, a bracelet that transforms into a river of diamonds running down her loins, a diamond placed on the nape of her neck that becomes in the twinkling of an eye an invitation to kiss in the hollow of her neck… Nomadic necklaces, sensual jewels in motion that invite women to travel… So many treasures revealed in each piece of the “Secrets de Lys” Haute Joaillerie Collection, for women who dare in jewelry as in life.
