Piper-Heidsieck champagnes, adorned with their red and gold labels, are a thing of the past. Since 1785, when Florens-Louis Heidsick founded his Champagne house Heidsieck & Cie and had the honor of presenting his wines himself to Marie-Antoinette, through the centuries and wars, and right up to the present day, Piper-Heidsieck champagnes have combined excellence and expertise.

Excellence, because the House and its cellar manager, Régis Camus, have won the “Sparkling Wine of the Year” (for the Rare Millésime 1998) and “Sparkling Winemaker” awards, respectively, several times. Not to be overlooked, Régis Camus has won this award eight times, including seven in a row.

Know-how, because the vintages harvested are vinified gently and separately, to respect the typicity of their origins.

To mark the end of the year, the House drew inspiration from the architecture of its headquarters, designed by Jacques Ferrier (who went on to create the French pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo in 2010). The building is surrounded by a gold-colored mesh structure, echoing the effervescence of the wine that inspires it. This concept is carried through to the boxes for Cuvée Sublime, Cuvée Brut and Rosé Sauvage Champagnes.

Cuvée Sublime is a blend of Champagne Cuvée Brut with at least one year’s extended maturation. The result is a great off-dry champagne, with a golden bronze patina and fruity, tangy notes.

Cuvée Brut contains a majority of Pinots Noirs, for a light gold champagne par excellence. The notes this time are of fresh fruit and aniseed.

Finally, Rosé Sauvage combines Pieper-Heidsieck’s Cuvée Brut with a generous proportion of fruity red Champagne wines. Its vermilion-red color, due to red fruits, offers a rich, fresh taste, enhanced by spicy touches of Espelette pepper, tea and licorice.
