Founded in 1936, Maison Michel is a leading expert and craftsman in the world of hats and hair accessories. Creating hats for the most prestigious fashion houses. Since 1996, La Maison Michel has been part of the Chanel SAS group. The latter had acquired the workshop in the hope of protecting the know-how of the hat-making craft in France. Then came new director Laeticia Crahay in 2006, who relaunched the brand, giving it a much more modern touch and infusing it with a touch of mischief, designing, for example, the now-famous “cat ears”.
So it’s only natural that Maison Michel should now set up store in the prestigious Rue Cambon, at number 19 and just a few steps from Maison Chanel, in a temporary boutique until March 2014. The boutique, which opened on November 25, has been designed as a true Parisian apartment. It’s an intimate boutique, scented with floral notes and adorned with candles that warm the singular atmosphere. Maison Michel creations share the space with everyday objects.
This is the very first boutique for the brand, whose creations are already on sale at Montaigne Market and Le Bon Marché. Who knows, maybe we’ll see a definitive boutique opening soon!
Pop-Up Store Maison Michel from November 25, 2013 to March 31, 2014, 19 rue Cambon in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.
