With a daily Sicilian breakfast starting at 7 a.m., an extensive lunch and dinner menu, pastries, ice creams and homemade pastries for tea-time, the GranCaffèConvivium offers the generosity and authenticity of Sicilian cuisine. The basement also houses LaNotte, with its bar atmosphere, live music cocktails and openmic around a special “after midnight” menu, Tuesday to Saturday from 11pm to 3am.

Formerly located Place Victor Hugo, now Boulevard Pershing near Porte Maillot, the new Convivium opens its doors in a brand new space in the 8th arrondissement and becomes the GranCaffèConvivium.
A stone’s throw from the Champs Elysées, on the corner of rue Marbeuf and impasse Robert Estienne, Giulio Lo Presti’s new establishment offers 150 covers and a terrace. Everything is brand-new at this address, which once housed a fine bakery and patisserie, then various restaurants. The GranCaffè Convivium, right down to the smallest detail, combines contemporary decor with the sunny, convivial spirit of Italy.
But first and foremost, it’s Sicilian cuisine – simple yet generous, where spices and oriental know-how are sometimes closely intertwined – that Giulio and his chef Alfio bring to life with a menu that’s a journey in itself.
For breakfast in winter, a pizzetta with brioche dough (3€), a cornetti, a light Italian croissant, plain or filled (3€) and an Italian coffee (2.50€). In summer, a brioche with cinnamon and orange peel (3€) accompanies an almond granita with coffee or chocolate (5€).
Gourmet break: all pastries and ice creams are home-made: classic or strawberry tiramisu, cannolis, pannacotta made with cream and agar agar, semifreddo and ice creams are Alfio’s specialties. (From 7 to 13.50€)
Cold or hot starters: 15 cold starters, antipasti, caponata, sweet and sour Sicilian ratatouille or pasta salads are the perfect appetizer for a large appetite and lunch for smaller appetites. (From 8 to 18€)
For hot starters, real parmigiana or fantasia di verdure, a large plate of grilled vegetables, reveal all the flavors of Mediterranean vegetables. (From 9 to 18€)
Pasta, Pizzas: For pizzas, all attention is paid to the long levitation dough to enjoy a light and crispy pizza. (22 types from 12 to 18€)
Pasta, from the simplest (olive oil, garlic and chili) to the most sophisticated such as sea urchin in summer or truffle in winter, but also risottos, ravioli and gnocchi can satisfy every craving. (23 varieties from €10 to €22)
Meats: Grilled or pan-fried, with recipes based mainly on veal, not forgetting involtinis made from thin slices of marinated beef fillet, a house specialty. (From €18 to €28)
Fish: Fried smelts, tempura of squid, cephalopods or shrimps, tuna, swordfish, sea bream, simply grilled or in sauce, not forgetting Giulio’s wink for a royal sea bream dressed in Smalto! (From €18 to €39)
Special menu for LaNotte: A wide choice of cocktails and, for those with a late-night appetite, a sweet and savory menu of Sicilian specialties.

From Piedmont to Sicily by way of Tuscany, Gran Caffè Convivium has selected authentic Italian wines from a land where man and vine are one. Barolo Bussia, Pietradolce Rosso or Archienieri Etna Bianco, the journey of flavors continues.
