The Steam Bar is the new address for the art of Dim Sum.
Whether you’re in the mood for a trip, a moment of sharing or a selfish pleasure, the menu will appeal to all lovers of Asian flavors.
Baos, dim sum of all kinds, spring rolls… A selection inspired by Hong Kong and Tokyo.
Steam bar is a Parisian restaurant with Hong Kong and Tokyo influences, created by the Vaconsin sisters. It is dedicated to the art of Dim Sum. Starting out without investors, this complementary duo is now at the helm of the Blueberry Maki Bar and the Italian restaurant Marcello in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
Gabriel Pistre
The world of the Steam bar is reminiscent of old Hong Kong, a city at the crossroads of time and civilization. The restaurant is an invitation to travel in an elegant, festive and exotic atmosphere, reminiscent of a secret club.
The décor – designed by Gabriel Pistre – is inspired by the world of old Hong Kong in Wong Kar Wai’s film In the Mood for Love, where you float as if in a timeless bubble. It combines noble, vintage materials (wood, stone, worked metal) with pop decor (neon lights, lanterns, contemporary Asian design).
The Steam bar is a steaming restaurant with Hong Kong and Tokyo influences. The menu revisits traditional specialties: dim sum (ravioli, siu mai, ha kao, wonton, steamed bites), bao (stuffed steamed bun), gyoza, spring rolls, miso eggplant, lemongrass broth, melting papaya salad, steamed vegetable basket and black sesame sauce….
Steam bar desserts are created by pastry chef Marianne Quijada. Each dessert evokes Asia with finesse and simplicity: Religieuse marron-litchi, Tourte bergamatote, green tea and kumquat jelly, Panna cotta with black sesame and muscovado syrup, Génoise vapeur and caramel passion….
To accompany its dim sums, the steam bar offers signature cocktails with pronounced Asian accents, such as the TAIPEI SOUL (Taiwanese Kavalan whisky infused with black sesame, pear liqueur, Elixir China), BANGKOK SHOT (rum, lemongrass, pineapple, chili pepper, ginger, Grand Marnier, yuzushu, coconut milk) or TOKYO SPRING (Roku gin, tea liqueur, yuzushu, ginger, shiso, tonic).
Sunday brunch has become a must. Convivial and gourmet, it’s a time for sharing. At the Steam Bar, we’re revisiting it, making it exotic and unique. On the brunch menu? A hot drink of your choice, like a black sesame latte to start. Then choose from a house juice (apple, kiwi, lime, star anise) or a fruity cocktail (jasmine tea, orgeat, yuzu, passion fruit, ginger). On the food side, there’s a choice of 5 sweet or savoury dishes. Difficult to decide. Choose, for example, baos, Fan Ko, Siu mai Saint-Jacques and tobiko, spring rolls or steamed sponge cake with passion caramel. An intoxicatingly delicate menu with hints of Asia!
