AN INTIMATE GETAWAY AT THE FOGO ISLAND INN
Fogo Island, in Labrador, is just 25 km long and 14 km wide. It served as a refuge in the 1680s for fishermen fearing French raiders. Since 2010, several modern artist residences have opened on the island, welcoming artists from all over the world. In the midst of this typically northern Canadian landscape, only the ghostly silhouette of a white building interrupts the pristine horizon. The Fogo Inn stands proudly like a lighthouse on this magical island.
The Inn has been built with the utmost care. Every element, from the furniture to the blankets, bears the hallmarks of the designers.
Each of the 29 suites is a veritable nest. While each has a floor-to-ceiling glass wall overlooking the ocean with a breathtaking view, they are all different. The warm, original decor really gives you the feeling of being at the end of the world… A Spa with treatments is available to relax after one of the many activities on offer on the island, such as whale or iceberg watching, or a visit to a fish-smoking workshop. But this inn’s other trump card is its gourmet restaurant, with its emphasis on local produce!
