A fine discovery, this Château du Moulin-à-vent 2012.
Tasting reveals a garnet-amber color. The nose is full of finesse, smoky, red raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, floral violet, licorice stick, fresh walnut, cardamom, with a note of damp earth and a certain sweetness. Very harmonious and fine on the palate, between power and softness, very long on a note of coffee caramel and lovely freshness. Food pairings: herb-roasted shoulder of lamb, leg of lamb, quail with raisins, strawberry soup with pepper, brillat-savarin with truffles or morbier cheese, red fruit tart.
