Château Moulin à Vent 2019, An organic, sulfite-free Moulis for the holidays
Owned by Bordeaux Vineam, one of the Gironde’s organic leaders, Château Moulin à Vent is a worthy representative of the Moulis AOC terroir. Its 2019 vintage, organic and with no added sulfites, is to be discovered this year-end. A concentrate of Médoc viticulture
Château Moulin à Vent, whose vineyards date back over two centuries, is located in the heart of the Moulis appellation in the Médoc. The vines are planted on 22 hectares of clay-limestone and Pyrenean gravel soils: a diversity of soils that brings richness and fertility.
Petit Verdot (35%), Merlot (30%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) and Cabernet Franc (15%) make up this cuvée. The Petit Verdot, with its rich tannins and powerful aromas, is softened by the round, supple tannins of the Merlot. The slightly herbaceous notes of Cabernet Sauvignon and the spicy aromas of Cabernet Franc complete the aromatic bouquet of this blend.
After harvesting by hand, the wine is traditionally made in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Maceration lasts one month, before the wine is aged for 12 months in barrels.

An authentic Moulis
The nose is complex, with aromas of ripe red fruit, wood and spice. After a round attack, the mid-palate reveals velvety tannins. Acidity and freshness conclude the tasting. A round, delicately fleshy wine that embodies the authenticity of Moulis.
