Like the other Leica M models, the Leica M-E is limited to essential functions, remaining true to Leica’s design philosophy. Its intuitive operation allows you to concentrate entirely on photography.
The Leica M-E (Type 240) is characterized by its iconic design and the quality of finish for which Leica products are renowned. Its compact, leather-covered case is protected from dust and water splashes. The top cover and base are finished in a charcoal gray paint that has been specially designed for this model. The new Leica M-E, like the other cameras in the M series, is distinguished by its extensive compatibility – thanks to the M bayonet, it can be matched with any M lens.
With 24 megapixels, the CMOS sensor ensures a perfect balance between high resolution, for representation of the finest details, and file size, for perfect integration into the workflow. Light sensitivity of ISO 6,400 translates into outstanding results, even in low ambient light conditions. For fast-paced photo sequences, the 2 GB memory ensures that the Leica M-E is always ready to record.
The Leica M-E’s video function captures the inimitable look of Leica photography in moving images, in FullHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) with a choice of 24, 25 or 30 shots per second. Photo projects can be complemented by professional film footage without having to change cameras.
