SPRING-SUMMER 2017

Tropiques Numériques

The Leonard woman isn’t afraid of anything: the proof is in the adventurous woman’s undertaking, for Spring/Summer 2017, to cross the jungle in the middle of the night. However, with only a starry sky and tropical plants as her companion, she found herself hallucinating – which she didn’t mind.

All around her, lush nature has metamorphosed into a creative laboratory. Rubber trees spill their oily sap onto fabrics that glide, shimmer and swell. Their trunks take on the appearance of hammered silk crepe. The palms are suddenly chopped, remixed and vibrate on holoïdal materials.

This fanciful vision appeals to her: the chlorophyll green quenches her thirst, the pink of the hibiscus brightens her path, and she even befriends a fragile, wild orchid.

On the eve of its 60th anniversary, Leonard Paris imagines a modern jungle – real or symbolic, urban or vegetal, 3.0 or tangible. This ‘Tropiques Numériques’ collection digitally reworks the floral motifs so dear to the house, inscribing them in a new contemporaneity.

The pieces reveal a new fluidity between steamy and sporty, organic and architectural.

An embroidered honeycomb teddy is worn with the refinement of a blazer; a minimalist kimono with the ease of a lounge suit. A parka is reworked in holoïdal technical organza; evening gowns are made of lamé and pleated silk, contrasted with ribbed edges, giving luxury an ergonomic anchor.

The Leonard woman is strong in her sensitivity. And she doesn’t have a minute to lose. Adventure calls.
