Etnia Barcelona has teamed up with Yves Klein Archives to offer a series of eyewear in tribute to the mythical blue of artist Yves Klein. On sale at Colette at the end of the month!
The International Klein Blue Collection was born of a meeting between the designers of Etnia Barcelona and Yves Klein Archives, represented by L’héritier d’Yves Klein, at the brand’s Barcelona offices. Since its creation, Etnia Barcelona has embraced color as a means of expression. Today, the brand is a pioneer in the development and study of color. The brand’s chromatic play has become the central axis of its collections and communications.
This collection, created in collaboration with the archives bequeathed by the artist Yves Klein, features “Bleu Klein” on several frames. The color Bleu Klein has been used in the fashion industry for decades, but for the first time Yves Klein Archives, represented by Yves Klein’s heir, has authorized a brand to use the color patented by the artist. Etnia Barcelona has created a collection of vintage-style eyewear, with soft shapes, lots of style and personality, to offer a product that is both elegant and daring.
The Kyoto frame
The lenses in this collection are made by Barberini. They are high-quality mineral lenses, whose mirror effect gives these glasses a retro look. The acetate used for the frames comes from cotton and is entirely natural. The royalties from this collection will be donated to the NGO Orphanaid, a non-profit organization that implements programs and projects to help orphaned children and families in Ghana, West Africa.
