During our recent stay in Prague, we discovered an exceptional place, a place that has to be deserved. An extraordinary hotel in the heart of Prague’s Old Town, the Mandarin Oriental Prague is sure to remain a favorite.

Built on the site of a former 14th-century monastery, the Mandarin Oriental is ideally located on a cobblestone street in the Malá Strana district.

Combining magnificent contemporary design with period architectural elements, the Mandarin Oriental, Prague is both a luxury establishment and a superbly preserved historic site. With 99 rooms and suites, a world-renowned bar and restaurant, and a fabulous spa, it offers a haven of peace with authentic accents, inherited from centuries of history. Built on the ruins of an ancient monastery, the Mandarin Oriental has been restored with the utmost respect for the original buildings. The hotel also boasts a museum housing the many archaeological treasures found during the excavation.

On the left bank of the Vltava, nestled in a peaceful setting close to many of Prague’s sights.

Monastic serenity and modern luxury
With their welcoming atmosphere blending historical reminders and contemporary style, the 99 rooms and suites are the very image of style and elegance. Unostentatious luxury at its finest.
We take you on an exclusive tour of the Presidential Suite.

Resolutely modern cuisine in a historic setting at l’essensia

Comprising a series of intimate rooms topped by magnificent vaulted ceilings, Essensia is a unique restaurant. In a chic yet understated ambience, cream walls and light-colored floors create an elegant setting that goes perfectly with the mouth-watering dishes concocted by chef Jiří Štift.

The Essensia restaurant offers an unforgettable culinary experience through authentic Asian classics and a selection of tasty local specialties. Drawing on Mandarin Oriental’s rich heritage, Chef Jiří Štift showcases all the specialties of the Asian continent: Pad Thai, Vietnamese Pho soup and Japanese sashimi. The restaurant also offers several vegetarian recipes and a range of Indian tandoori dishes, as well as Asian and Czech menus.

In addition to the main dining room, l’Essensia offers a private space for 23 guests and an outdoor terrace open in season. If you prefer the atmosphere of our wine cellar, it can accommodate 16 guests for intimate cocktails, private meals or tastings by prior arrangement.

Spread over two floors, the spa is a serene space where you can rest, relax and rejuvenate.

As soon as you cross the threshold, you’ll be filled with a sense of tranquility. Although housed in a former chapel, the spa’s contemporary design nevertheless leaves plenty of room for the 14th-century church’s foundations, which are beautifully highlighted by illuminations in the entrance hall, beneath a glass floor.

On the spa’s two levels, you’ll appreciate the calm and relaxed atmosphere, the soothing décor and the attention to detail of our talented therapists. After slipping on the slippers we’ve provided and enjoying an herbal tea, you can head to the changing room and then to the tea room to relax before your treatments. You’ll then take your place in your private treatment cabin for the consultation with your therapist, followed by a delightful foot massage to get you in the mood before the treatments begin.
