Following the success of the first collection in 2012, Topshop is delighted to renew the partnership with Reclaim To Wear for the second time, to create a capsule collection made from reclaimed materials with an ethical twist and featuring summer wardrobe must-haves. Reclaim To Wear was created in 1997 by “From Somewhere”. Orsola de Castro and Filippo Ricci’s eco-pioneering fashion label was conceived as a solution to the problem of textile waste. De Castro and Ricci shared their knowledge with Topshop with the aim of encouraging sustainability in the fashion industry while keeping a strong design aspect in mind.
Using recycled materials, the Topshop design team has created a collection in delicate silk with floral prints in a strong color palette. A patterned sleeveless dress will be embellished with a lace yoke; oversized shirts with checkered georgette yokes will be paired with shorts, while elegant silk camisoles will be paired with matching culottes and pencil skirts. The collection was entirely produced in England.
Orsola de Castro had this to say about the collaboration: “We’ve been really proud to work with the team. Stephen Mongan, Head of Sourcing and Technical Services, also commented: “We’re proud to be partnering with one of London’s key manufacturers for our second collection, with a focus on local business. The inspiration behind this collection was to turn away from disposable fashion, breathing new life into the outdated prints of the previous season. We’re trying to look further afield to expand the Topshop Reclaim To Wear line, season after season, bringing more and more types of product into the portfolio.
The collection will be launched on June 20, 2013 and will be sold in the Oxford Circus store in London, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Australia, Vancouver and in Japanese boutiques and Topshop.com
