INES DE LA FRESSANGE AND HEART SURGERY SPONSORSHIP

Le Café de la Paix gets involved again and again. The third edition of Mécénat Chirurgie cardiaque has just begun. The principle is simple but effective: for every breakfast taken on the terrace and paid 5 euros, the establishment will add an equivalent sum. The money raised will go directly to the great cause of saving children’s lives!

For several years now, Inès de la Fressange has been the association’s ambassador. With elegance and naturalness, she agreed to answer a few questions.

1) You’ve been involved with Mécénat Chirurgie cardiaque for ten years now. Do you see a growing mobilization to save these children?

Yes, people recognize the importance of this project. It’s about saving children, children who can’t benefit from treatment in their own countries.

2) This association has diversified its possibilities and proposed numerous actions. You have undoubtedly been the driving force behind certain projects, such as the line of ballerinas created in 2012 with Roger Vivier and Bruno Frisoni. This first line of ballerinas for little girls raised awareness in particular.

Indeed, the diversity of our projects enables us to reach different audiences. In a way, each collaboration is interesting. You mentioned the partnership with Maison Roger Vivier, which has been a wonderful adventure.

3) Café de la Paix inaugurates its ‘Petits déjeuners du cœur’. Could you tell us more about this initiative?

The Café de la Paix welcomes us to offer a 5-euro breakfast in support of a great cause, Mécénat chirurgie cardiaque. It’s a pleasant place, and many people are expected to come.
At the end of the event, the school will make a financial contribution, doubling the amount raised.

4) It’s sometimes sad to see how much more motivated people are when they receive something in return for their donation. Do you think the notion of selflessness and empathy is on the way out?

I don’t think so. Ultimately, people can get involved, feel concerned in this way. I’m thinking in particular of the USA and the many events linked to the notion of charity. For the public, it’s a way of spending a very enjoyable moment while serving a great cause.
