VICE and Snoopadelic Films announce the release of REINCARNATED, starring Snoop Lion, in MK2 cinemas from April 4. This feature-length film traces the legendary career and itinerary of Snoop Dogg, the king of gangsta rap, and how he embarked on a “journey of self-reincarnation” – both a career turning point and a spiritual awakening. This intimate documentary, directed by Andy Capper, takes a close look at this journey, shedding light on the singer’s controversial transformation from hip-hop to reggae as he recorded his new album, REINCARNATED, produced by Major Lazer.
An official selection of the renowned Toronto International Film Festival, the eagerly-awaited film tells the story of Snoop Dogg’s spiritual transformation into SNOOP LION following his recent trip to Jamaica – where the Jamaican people and culture left a deep impression on him.
REINCARNATED, presented by VICE Films and Snoopadelic Films, examines the legacy of Rastafari musical culture through Snoop’s visit to Trench Town, the cradle of reggae and the playground of living personalities such as Peter Tosh, Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer. Snoop talks about his turbulent rise from Long Beach rapper to international hip-hop icon and finally “Snoop Lion”. REINCARNATED is produced by Suroosh Alvi of VICE Media and Ted Chung of Stampede Management.
REINCARNATED will be shown exclusively in MK2 cinemas.
