We had the immense pleasure of previewing Michel Gondry’s brand new film, L’Ecume des jours. The film is based on Boris Vian’s unclassifiable and cult
novel. A beautiful, poetic and jazzy love story that takes us into a parallel universe that’s both funny and sad. A film of extreme creativity, in which all the talent of Michel Gondry, the Géo Trouvetou of the cinema, comes to the fore.

This is the surreal, poetic story of an idealistic, inventive young man, Colin, who meets Chloé, a young woman who seems to be the embodiment of one of Duke Ellington’s
blues. Their idyllic marriage turns bitter when Chloé falls ill with a water lily growing in her lung.
To pay for his treatment, in a fantastical Paris, Colin has to work under increasingly absurd conditions … Here’s a presentation of the characters:
