The Plaza Athénée, the jewel in the crown of the Dorchester Collection group, celebrated its first centenary in style this Saturday.
To mark its centenary, the Plaza Athénée was decked out in its finest finery to welcome stars and prestigious guests.
Our beloved palace also paid homage here and there to the crafts and know-how of this house, recognized as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV). Florists, cabinet-makers, boot-makers…
François Delahaye, General Manager of the Plaza Athénée, in the company of Alain Ducasse, Alain Delon, Christophe Michalak and other prestigious guests, created the event by burying a time capsule in the lobby of the palace. This time capsule, featuring objects representing the first 100 years of the Plaza, will be opened in 25 years’ time.
The highlight of the show was undoubtedly Christophe Michalak’s birthday cake, majestic in size and dominating the proceedings.

Happy Centenary Plaza Athénée!
