MARC DORCEL launches DORCELLE.COM, the first X site for women, made by women. Specially designed for girls, the site is based on Sophie Bramly’s renowned Cinema SecondSexe.com platform, acquired by MARC DORCEL. The site, which has the look and feel of a women’s webzine, features a hundred or so X-rated films and scenes, presented through reviews, posts, interviews, testimonials and advice compiled by a team of specially trained, uninhibited women. DORCELLE.COM is sure to spice up any girl’s sexuality!

At a time when more than eight out of ten women (82%) admit to having already seen an X-rated film* (and when half of them consume X-rated material on their own), MARC DORCEL presents the first complete offer of adult films and content aimed at women, and thus responds to their attraction – almost 20% of women watch X-rated material regularly – to pornography, long considered an exclusively male genre. So much for preconceived ideas!

The site’s all-female editorial team includes members of the DORCEL team, journalists, X actresses, sex columnists and guest writers such as pornstar Katsuni and former X actress Coralie Trinh Thi (co-director of the film Baise moi and author of the autobiographical La voix humide). The editors contribute to the site’s pornography-focused sections: reviews, news (news, literature, exhibitions…), advice, shopping (promo codes, exclusive offers…), interviews; and lead readers to X-rated films or scenes that have particularly touched them.

The hundred or so adult films and scenes available for purchase on the platform have been specially selected from among the world’s most reputable studios by the DORCEL women’s team, who drew on the exclusive survey carried out by IFOP for MARC DORCEL in September 2012, as well as on the survey conducted by L’Imparfaite, the erotic magazine for students at Sciences Po in 2010. The study, the first to examine the behavior and tastes of French women with regard to X-rated films, reveals, for example, that women’s taste in pornographic films is characterized by the importance they attach to the realism of sex scenes (35%), the quality of the script (37%), but also and above all to the beauty (35%) and naturalness of the actors’ physiques (40%). According to L’Imparfaite’s survey, girls don’t necessarily expect films to be less explicit, or with more dialogue, or more aesthetically pleasing, but they do deplore a certain lack of realism.
So say goodbye to fantasies that are too masculine and practices that are too far removed from reality!

Some key figures

More than eight out of ten women (82%) confirm that they have already seen an X-rated film, whether in its entirety (38%) or just a few extracts (44%).

Women’s consumption of pornographic films remains occasional, but is becoming significant: 18% of women see them regularly or from time to time, compared with 63% of men.

More surprisingly, while adult film viewing is still often a couple activity (62%), it’s also a widespread solitary activity, with one French woman in two (50%) viewing solo. So half of all women watch X alone!

Women who watch these films with their partners have a richer sex life than the average: the proportion is particularly high among women who have more than 12 sexual encounters a month (69%).

Women’s taste in pornographic films is characterized by the importance they attach to the realism of sex scenes (35%), the quality of the script (37%), and above all the beauty (35%) and naturalness of the actors (40%).

French women would like to see changes in a film genre that, in their eyes, still suffers from a lack of professionalism (79%) and a vision of sexuality that reflects overly masculine fantasies (71%) and practices that are far removed from reality (79%).

Over the years, the viewing of X-rated films has become more and more commonplace among women, but for them it remains a rather occasional practice, carried out both as a couple and solo. Women’s taste in pornographic films is characterized by the importance they attach to the realism and aesthetics of scenes and actors. Women’s desire to see this film genre evolve is reflected in their dissatisfaction with current productions which, in their eyes, suffer from a lack of professionalism and a male vision of sexuality that is too far removed from reality.

DORCELLE.COM represents what today’s women want in terms of sexuality and pornography, far from what’s offered by classic VOD X sites, with feminine graphics, a contemporary, no-holds-barred tone, in-depth editorial content, a cutting-edge catalog, adapted sections, good humor, pep, selected visuals and targeted content.
