SONGZIO SS 2013

You can imagine how refreshing it is to be able to quench your thirst after a hot day. Well, that’s exactly how the Songzio show felt (despite the sweltering heat of the Turenne garage).

White and bright colors in light fabrics such as cotton and linen. Fluorescent hues used sparingly, contributing to the collection’s tasteful elegance. Another feast for the eyes was to see the clothes worn by model Adrien Sahores, with whom I’d had a chance to chat a few hours earlier at Agnès B.

Collars are worn fairly high, with fastenings imitating those seen on some kimonos, with rows of buttons shown only when necessary. We also saw boatnecks with draped backs on chunky knit sweaters, pretty two-material trenches, marcels and floaty striped shirts. Canvas espadrilles completed these summer looks.

The Songzio show was therefore unpretentious, but very much in tune with the times, and a sort of incubator for the general trends seen during this fashion week, showing that simplicity can also be a guarantee of elegance.
